How To Tie The Perfect Solid PVA Bag For Long Casts | Ali Hamidi
The Solid PVA Bag - a carp fishing tactic and method you can take absolutely everywhere at any time of year - a true classic. Here's how Ali Hamidi ties his bags for a long chuck!

- Attach your Mainline to the looped end of our Meta All-In-One Solid Bag Rigs (everything you need is in the box!) This is best done with a Palomar Knot, or you could also use the popular Loop-to-Loop method.
- Using some Get Flossed, add your Hookbait to the Micro Ring Swivel on the Rig. Finishing it off with a Bait Blob for extra security.
- Next grab a Flat Inline Pear Lead, which are perfectly designed with a little groove so you can fish them drop-off style. Push the Swivel into the base of the Lead and run the Leader through that groove before sliding down the Tail Rubber over the top. This will allow the Lead to come off easily around snags or weed.
- Grab a Fade Solid PVA Bag and punch some holes in it using the Cool Tool. This helps remove air from the bag.
- Add a bed of pellets as a base. The smaller the better really, 2mms are a great choice.
- Next, place in your Lead at the bottom of the bag. This helps with aerodynamics and longer casts.
- Keep adding pellets until the bag is 2/3rds full, then tease your Hookbait into the bag. Cover with even more pellets!
- Start tapping, this will help the pellets squash into position tightly.
- Get twisting and really compacting the bag.
- Tie off the top of the bag with some Fade PVA Tape.
- Trim off any excess PVA.
- Push in, then lick and stick the corners for even better aerodynamics.
- You're ready to cast... a hell of a long way too!
This has to be one of my favourite methods on planet earth, we see so many people catch on this tactic every year, it just works!
